On January 20th, Women Take the Day

Women Take The Day is a movement designed to make women the center of attention. On the day of Trump’s second inauguration, we make a decision: we take the spotlight away from his news coverage and agenda and redirect it to the incredible power, resilience, and strength of women across the world.

This is a day to flood the news and social media with stories, voices, and faces of women. It is a day to write our own narrative. We will be loud, and we will be visible.

To Drown Out the Inauguration
On this day, we refuse to let the focus be on Trump. This movement is about showing the world that we matter. We will take back the airwaves and the conversation. By sharing our stories, lifting each other up, and showing our collective strength, we will make January 20th about us—the women who are fighting for autonomy, justice, and a voice in our own futures.

Why This Day Matters
Trump’s second term represents a very real threat to women’s autonomy and rights—forced marriage, forced silence, and forced control over our bodies. These are not just abstract issues; they are being pushed into reality through dangerous policies and rhetoric. The erasure of our voices is happening in every corner of this nation, as women’s rights are being stripped away faster than ever before. We’re being told our bodies don’t belong to us, our voices don’t matter, and our fight for equality is somehow less important than the status quo.

This is a fight we can’t afford to lose. Women’s rights are under attack in a way we haven’t seen in decades, and we cannot wait for change to come from others. We must take action now, and on January 20th, we rise together. We will take the stage, flood the airwaves, and make sure that this day isn’t about a man who seeks to divide us, but about the powerful, united force of women who will not be silenced. This is our time to reclaim our voices, reclaim our bodies, and reclaim our future. The world will hear us, and we will not be ignored.

Our Mission

How You Can Participate

The movement starts now—before the day itself. Here's how you can help build momentum, raise awareness, and make sure that when January 20th arrives, the world is already paying attention to us.

  • Spread the Word: Start sharing the movement with your community today. Post on social media, send emails, and talk to friends and family. The more women who know about this day, the stronger we will be. Use the hashtag #WomenTakeTheDay to help spread the message and share why it matters.

  • Host Virtual Information Sessions: Organize online meetings or group chats where women in your community can learn more about the movement and how they can participate. This is a great way to introduce others to the cause and build solidarity before the big day.

  • Share Stories and Inspiration: Over the weeks leading up to January 20th, share stories of women who inspire you. Post quotes, articles, or personal stories that highlight women’s strength and resilience. This will create a sense of unity and inspire others to get involved.

  • Create Your Own Countdown: Start a personal or group countdown to January 20th. This could be a daily post, a shared challenge, or a countdown on your social media to remind everyone about the upcoming day. Building anticipation will help keep the movement top-of-mind.

  • Collaborate with Local Women’s Groups: Reach out to local organizations, women’s groups, and activists who may be interested in joining the movement. Work together to plan activities, share resources, and amplify the cause.

  • Share Your Why: Record a video or write a post explaining why you’re participating in this movement. Share your reasons for wanting to take the day and why it matters to you. Your passion will inspire others to join. And don't forget to use the hashtag #WomenTakeTheDay
